Martha L. Dodge, 80 years old, of Goldsboro, NC, died on Sunday, May 30, 2004, at home. Martha was born on August 13, 1923, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to the late Clarence H. Baker and the late Althea R. (Tripp) Baker. A long time Andover resident, Mrs. Dodge lived in Goldsboro, North Carolina, since 1997. She was a nurses aide working in several nursing homes and with home health care for over 20 years. She was a member of the Andover First United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women, the Jefferson Depot Club, American Legion Percy D. Hyatt Post #226 Auxiliary for over 40 years serving in various offices including President, and the 55 and Over Club. She married Gordon N. Dodge on November 9, 1946, and was preceded in death by him on May 20, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Mabel Smith. Mrs. Dodge enjoyed puzzles and reading the bible. She is survived by her daughter, Jean O. Lincoln of Goldsboro, NC; her daugther, Charlotte M. Jones of Bradenton, FL; her daughter, Debby A. Burlingame of Hot Springs, AR; her brother, Ralph G. Baker of Andover, OH; her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Andover, South Main Street, Andover, on Friday, July 2, 2004, at 2:00p.m. Burial of cremated remains to follow in Hayes Cemetery, Wayne Twp., Ohio.
