Ada M. Smith, age 76, died on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, after a short illness. She was born on December 3, 1933, in Farmdale, Ohio, the daughter of Hazel Marie (Shaffer) and Arthur Hines. A 1951 graduate of Gustavus High School, and a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Smith was the site manager for the Kinsman Senior Center for twenty-four years and retired in 2004. On November 4, 1951 she married Gene A. Smith. She was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church and was a part of many of its groups. Mrs. Smith was also a member of the Kinsman Ladies Fire Department Auxiliary and of the Kinsman American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was known to all in the surrounding area as a part on the senior center and helped the community seniors in many ways. She enjoyed going to garage sales and spending time with her family. Preceded her in death are her parents; a great granddaughter, Kayla Osborne; a sister, Helen Fry and three brothers, Loren, Howard and Martin Hines. Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, Gene A. Smith of Kinsman, Ohio; a daughter, Dollie M. Davis of Kinsman, Ohio; a son, David G. Smith of Warren, Ohio; four granddaughters, Sandra, Janet, Jennifer and Sarah; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Louise Shaffer and Leila Stevens both of Cortland, Ohio; two brothers, Anderson â�œButchâ Hines of Hermitage, Pennsylvania and Floyd Hines of Kinsman, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. David McKinnon officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 7th from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at the funeral home.
