Kinsman, Ohio - A. Keith Bahler, age 97, died on Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Warren, Ohio. He was born on January 13, 1919 in Sugarcreek, Ohio, a son of Treva (Baker) and Albert C. Bahler. Formerly of Akron, Ohio, Mr. Bahler was a graduate of Sugarcreek High School and went on to graduate with a degree in education from Kent State University and later graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Dairy Technology in the college of Agriculture from Ohio State Universtiy. Mr. Bahler served in the United States Army during World War II. On July 5, 1941 he married Helen E. Schneiter. Together they moved to Kinsman, Ohio in 1963. Mr. Bahler worked for the former Sealtest of Akron and of Kinsman for over nineteen years and later worked for the former Target Stamped Products of Kinsman for over fifteen years until he retired in 1984. He was an active member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder, Trustee and Deacon and the men's group. Mr. Bahler was member of Northeastern Dairy Tech Society and was a charter member of the Kinsman Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed reading, gardening, playing golf and restoring furniture. Mr. Bahler is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of sixty-nine years, Helen E. Bahler and a sister, Hope Marquardt. He leaves two daughters, Karen E. (Ronald) Novak of Burghill, Ohio and Christina H. Bahler of Cortland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Novak of Charlotte, North Carolina and Dana (Randy) Novak-Messick of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; and four great grandchildren, Oliver, Henry and Lilah Novak-Messick, and Gemma Bing Novak. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00am at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church Street, Kinsman, Ohio with Rev. Susan Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 12th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio.
