ALBERT L. CAMPBELL, age 68, of Cherry Valley, Ohio, died Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at home after a brief illness. He was born January 1, 1939, in Kessler's Cross Lanes, WV, a son of Columbus and Verna (Bailes) Campbell. A retired construction worker from Laborer's Union 860, Albert was also a farmer. In his younger years, he worked in the West Virginia coal mines. He was a member of the Pymatuning Community Church in Andover, where he served as a board member, usher, and he worked in the Tender Mercies and other ministries. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, carpentry, fishing, and his grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Shirley (Kaarto) Campbell; four brothers, Clyde Campbell, John Andy Campbell, Dave Campbell, and Harry Campbell; a sister, Virginia Foster; and a granddaughter, Rachel Sloan. Survivors include his third wife, Nancy (Hollabaugh) Campbell, whom he married June 28, 1986, of Cherry Valley; three sons, Dennis Campbell of California, Duane (Charlotte) Campbell of North Carolina, and Garvin (Leslie) Campbell of West Virginia; nine step sons, Michael (Jeanine) Sloan of Johnston, OH, Robert (Terry) Sloan of New Lyme, OH, Gary (Juli) Sloan of New Lyme,OH, Joel (Julie) Sloan of Warren,OH, Brian (Julie) Sloan of Bristolville,OH, Jonathan (Rebecca) Sloan of Kinsman, OH, David (Alycia) Sloan of Diamond, OH, James Sloan of Copley Township,OH, and Stephen (Sara) Sloan of New Castle, PA; four step daughters, Sherry (John) Greco of Atwater, OH, Karen (Brian) Torrijas of Jefferson, OH, Colleen (Tucker) Silver of Cortland,OH, and Patricia (Jonathan) Siciliano of Ravenna,OH; three brothers, Charles (Betty) Campbell of Ashtabula,OH, Tom (Jean) Campbell of Jefferson,OH, and Austin Campbell of Nashport,OH; two sisters, Chessie Beaver of Enon, WV, and Elizabeth Jackson of Summersville, WV; 31 grandchildren and step grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Pymatuning Community Church, 6459 St. Rt. 7, Andover, Ohio, with Pastor Steven Mickels officiating. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, September 14th from 6 to 9 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St.,Andover,OH.
