Alberta Grace Buie

Andover, Ohio – Alberta Grace Buie, age 87, died on Saturday, January 11, 2014, with her family by her side. She was born on November 2, 1926, in Lansing, Ohio, a daughter of Margaret Grace (Trouten) and James Walter Francis. A longtime area resident, she married Archie Buie on July 22, 1944. Mrs. Buie was a waitress and beautician and at one time owned her own shop. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where she was past president and held most offices. Mrs. Buie was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed reading as well as doing embroidering, cross stitch and beadwork, making bracelets and necklaces for her children and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-four years, Archie Buie, who died on June 20, 1999; a daughter, Lorrain Stevens; a son, James Buie and a brother, Lester Francis. Survivors include a daughter, Linda L. Marshall of Andover, Ohio; two sons, John F. (Laurie) Buie of Andover, Ohio and Jack A. Buie of Andover, Ohio; two sisters, Carol (James) Smith of Conneautville, Pennsylvania and Kaylee Francis of Missouri; a brother, Donal Francis of Pierpont, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 1:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, with Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 16th from11:00am until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
