Alexander M. Freiberg

Alexander M. Freiberg, Sr., age 70, died on February 10, 2009 at his residence in Espyville, Pennsylvania. He was born on July 31, 1938 in Footdale, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Albert J. and Anna S. (Sumego) Freiberg. Formerly of West Farmington and Aurora, Ohio, Mr. Freiberg had lived in Espyville, Pennsylvania since 1994. He was a 1957 graduate of German Township High School. Mr. Freiberg was a meat cutter working for Sparkle in Andover and Warren, Ohio and Giant Eagle in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He retired in 2002, but worked part time until last year. Mr. Freiberg attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. He was active with the Neighborhood Watch, enjoyed fishing and was an avid Steelers and NASCAR fan. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene S. (John) Myers and Kathleen A. (Terry) Whalen-Wendel both of Aurora, Ohio; three sons, Alexander M. "Buddy" Freiberg Jr. of Garrettsville, Ohio, Anthony R. (Kim) Freiberg of Middlefield, Ohio, and Michael A. (Lisa) Freiberg of McDonald, Ohio; two step-daughters, Connie (Ken) Barnhart of Madison, Ohio and Veronica Castle of West Farmington, Ohio; three step-sons, Brian Jackson of West Farmington, Richard (Cindy) Jackson of Windsor, Ohio and Dan (Shannon) Castle of Southington, Ohio; a sister, Patricia Hayes of Mantua, Ohio; a brother, Albert J. Freiberg Jr. of Twinsburg, Ohio; 31 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 3:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, with Rev. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 15th from 1:00pm until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Neighborhood Block Watch of Espyville.
