Alice E. Fetters

Alice E. Fetters, age 87, of New Lyme township, Ohio, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at the Andover Village Retirement Community. She was born September 22, 1924, in Andover, Ohio, a daughter of Halley E. and Callie O. (Reynolds) Betts. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Fetters was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for over 35 years and belonged to the UMW for 60 years. She was a member of the Jefferson Grange for 55 years; and she regularly attended her class reunions. Mrs. Fetters enjoyed quilting at church, sewing, and baking for church suppers up until this last year. She also was a regular visitor to area nursing home residents; and sent cards to many friends and family for every occasion. Mrs. Fetters married her dearly beloved Victor E. Fetters on December 31, 1944; and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2004. Also preceding her are her parents; and four brothers, Harold E. Betts, Arthur R. Betts, Raymond E. Betts, and Halley E. Betts, Jr. She is survived by daughter, Deanna J. (Brian) McGirr of Andover,OH, daughter, Margie K. (William) Lang of Albuquerque, NM, son, Reid A. (Camille) Fetters of New Lyme township, OH, and daughter, Sheri L. Busch of Jefferson,OH; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and very close relatives, Marge Martin, Lois Betts, and Mildred Betts. Calling hours will be on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Cherry Valley United Methodist Church, 3353 St. Rt. 6, Andover,OH. A funeral service will start at 1:00 PM on Monday at the church with Rev. John Germaine officiating. A private interment will take place in Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme township, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family or to the funeral home.
