Kinsman, Ohio - Angel Lee Shaner, age 57, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, after a long battle with lung problems. She was born on March 9, 1954, in Greenville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Emma Christina (Williams) and John Floyd Lower. Angel was a 1972 graduate of Joseph Badger High School. On June 10, 1978, she married James M. Shaner. She was a cook for the Badger Schools for over fifteen years and for the past ten years assisted in cooking at Garden Brook of Cortland, Ohio. Angel enjoyed flower gardening and shopping at Wal-Mart and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, but her greatest joy was cooking and baking and spending time with her family which she dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Margaret â�œPeggyâ₝ Shaner and her brother, Melvin Lower. Survivors include her husband of 32 years, James M. Shaner of Kinsman, Ohio; a daughter, Chrissy J. McKnight and a son, Marcus J. (Christina) Shaner both of Kinsman, Ohio; four brothers, Donald Walton of Buchannan, West Virginia, Errol Walton of Greenville, Pennsylvania, John Lower of Champion, Ohio and Michael Lower of Williamsfield, Ohio; three grandchildren Christian and Cheyenne McKnight, Kayla Smith and one on the way. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 6:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 from 4:00pm until the time of services. Private burial will be in Rock Ridge Cemetery in West Salem, Pennsylvania.
