Ann Kurilec

Ann Kurilec, age 94, of Cortland, OH, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at her home. She was born May 6, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of Frank and Mary (Kushnir) Synizyn. Formerly of Cleveland and Colebrook, Ohio, Mrs. Kurilec had lived in Cortland for the past 25 years. She was employed by Kennametal in Orwell for over 20 years. She attended St. Robert's Catholic Church in Cortland, and formerly attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kinsman. Her hobbies included embroidery and sewing; and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Kurilec married George J. Kurilec, Jr., on October 3, 1942; and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1975. She is also preceded in death by her son, Joseph George. She is survived by her two daughters, Georgann (Sonny) Haines of Cortland, OH, and Cheryl (Gerald) Lawrence of Greenville, PA; her three grandchildren; three step grandchildren;six step great grandchildren; six step great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Mary (Frank) Geffert of North Olmsted,OH; and four nieces. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at 12:00 Noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Father Carl Kish officiating.
