Arabella H. Hayes

Mentor, Ohio - Arabella H. Hayes, age 93, died at her daughter's home in Mentor, Ohio, surrounded by her family on Thursday, May 29, 2008. She was born on January 23, 1915, in Richmond, Ohio the daughter of L. Edward Morrison and Margaret J. Morrison - Rose. A longtime resident of Richmond and Andover, Ohio, Mrs. Hayes was a resident of Mentor, Ohio for the past three years. She was a member of the Leon United Methodist Church since 1949, a member of the Albino Rebekah Lodge No 773 I.O.O.F. of Dorset, Ohio for over fifty years, where she was Past Noble Grand, and a member of the Richfield Grange No. 1654 for over sixty five years, where she was Past Master and Junior Deputy. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed baking pies and cookies, quilting, crocheting, knitting and playing cards. On August 25, 1948 she married G. Fredrick Hayes. He died on February 4, 2000 after fifty-one years of marriage. Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Walter and Henry Morrison. Survivors include four daughters, Susan J. McLaughlin of Orwell, Ohio, Helen R. Hayes of Mentor, Ohio, Doris M. (Martin) Beckwith of Andover, Ohio, and Joan E. (Harry) Smock of Andover, Ohio; one son John D. (Mary) Hayes of Phoenix, Arizona; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandson and Brenda Carr, who was like a daughter. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio, with Pastors Shirley A. Frantz and Sandy K. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Richmond Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 2nd from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
