Ardena M. Meikle, age 88, of Gustavus township, Ohio, died Friday, October 25, 2013. She was born February 23, 1925, in Kinsman, Ohio, a daughter of Rodney R. and Maude L. (Moore) Sisley. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Meikle was a 1942 Kinsman High School graduate; and attended nursing school in Youngstown. She was employed as a waitress for 50 years at Times Square Restaurant in Kinsman and for 25 years at Waynewood Restaurant in Wayne. She was also employed for 15 years as an aide for Dr. Berry. She operated a CB radio business with her husband for many years; and helped mow and care for the Gustavus township cemeteries. Mrs. Meikle was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church. She enjoyed wintering in Englewood, FL, with her husband; and she was always so proud of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Meikle is survived by her husband of 67 years, Robert L. "Red" Meikle, whom she married Oct. 19, 1946, of Gustavus; her daughter, Cecelia Cobb of Berea, OH; her three sons, Terry (Bonnie) Meikle of Colorado Springs, CO, Nelson Meikle of Gustavus, and Robert L. (Michelle) Meikle of Granville, OH; 12 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; and her three sisters, Eloise (Alfred) Beda of Cortland, OH, Janet (Ken) Collins of Jamestown, PA, and Jean (Dave) Ware of Warren, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Warren E. Meikle; and three sisters, Leahbelle Sisley, Genevieve Sisley, and Marvel Roof. Mrs. Meikle will be cremated and a private interment held in Gustavus Cemetery.
