Arthur A. Wilcox

Cherry Valley, Ohio - Arthur A. Wilcox, age 78, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012. He was born on August 1, 1934, in Warren, Ohio, a son of Stella May (Keller) and Bernard Wilcox. Formerly of Chardon, Ohio, Mr. Wilcox lived in Cherry Valley since 1999. On December 11, 1983 he married Irene Ann Johnson. He worked for Chardon Rubber for forty-five years and retired on August 1, 1999. He then worked as a security guard for Pre Max in North Kingsville for over seven years. Mr. Wilcox is a member of the First Church of God in Cherry Valley. He enjoyed doing yard work to keep himself busy. Mr. Wilcox is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Jerry Lee Wilcox. Survivors include his wife of nearly twenty-nine years, Irene A. Wilcox of Cherry Valley; three daughters, Constance Varner, Chardon, Ohio, Arlene (Lee) McCurry, Champion, Ohio, and Alice Wilcox of Painesville, Ohio; a son, Joey Collins, Madison, Ohio; two brothers, Glenn (Mary) Wilcox of Concord, Ohio and Don (Donna) Wilcox of Rootstown, Ohio; a sister, Marly Burks of Floson, California; five grandchildren, Jason, Chanda, Billy, Bobby and Sami. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 1:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 8th from 11:00am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
