Gustavus, Ohio, Audrey L. Cico, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on August 20, 1923 in Gustavus, Ohio, the daughter of Maggie Olive (Jameson) and Leo D. Brainard. Mrs. Cico was a 1941 graduate of Gustavus High School. During World War II Mrs. Cico was a welder for a steel company in Warren. On October 24, 1942, she married Julius Cico. She retired from Mahoning National Bank after many years of service. Mrs. Cico was a member of the Gustavus Federated Church. She was a charter member of the Gustavus Mothers Club. Mrs. Cico loved writing poetry and baking pies and cookies. She enjoyed making baby blankets and rocking each new grandbaby; she also enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, doing cross stitch and bowling with her friends. Mrs. Cico is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-five years, Julius Cico; her son, Gregory Lee Cico; a sister, Belva McAllister; and six brothers, Floyd, Loren, Earl, Arden, Paul and William Brainard. Survivors include her five daughters, Sue A. (Dennis) Woofter of Cortland, Ohio, Linda J. (Kenneth) Vincent of Beavercreek, Ohio, Christal R. Foster of Massillon, Ohio, Teresa J. (Jeffrey) Carkhuff of Gustavus, Ohio and Sandra L. (James) Monaco of Medford, Oregon; a sister, Gladys I. Bradford of Fowler, Ohio; a brother, Wade L. (Helen) Brainard of Cortland, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren, Michael (Doreen) Woofter, Steve (Judy Rees) Woofter, Tamie (Larry) Hackett, Greg (Danielle) Vincent, Audrey (Clay) Davis, Joe Schwind, Julie Schwind, Andy (Sarah) Schwind, Sarah Schwind, Michelle (Joe) Polon, Jenn (John) Somerville, Carrie Carkhuff, John Carkhuff, Maggie Carkhuff, Ken (Brittney) Monaco, Roxanne (Dusty) Weld and Katelyn Monaco; twenty-two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 11:00am at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 26th from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.
