Cleveland Heights, Ohio - Aura Quinton Hill, age 90, passed peacefully in her sleep on Monday, July 22, 2024. She was born on November 28, 1933, in Farmville, Virginia, the son of Mary (Little) and Samuel Martyn Holton. Quinton graduated early from high school in 1950 and graduated from Duke University in 1954. On June 18, 1960, at a garden wedding, she married Edwin Everett Hill, Jr. They settled in the Cleveland area where she worked as a teacher. She later worked at FabriCenter in Beachwood the corporate headquarters of Joann Fabric.
Quinton was an active member of the Church of the Savior of Cleveland Heights. She liked to do crafts, knitting, sewing, and quilting. Quinton loved puzzles and was stellar at crossword puzzles up to the end.
Survivors include her son Edwin E. Hill, III of Evansville, Indiana, and her pride and joy, granddaughter Susan Roberta Zoe Hill. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of fifty-seven years, Ed; her stepmother, Christine (High) Holton and her sister, Mary Marie (Albert) Holton-Winters.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Cleveland Street Extension, Andover, Ohio. Arrangements are being handled by Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service of Andover. Share a fond memory or condolence at www.baumgardnerfuneralhome.com
