Barbara Ann Finicle

Barbara Ann Finicle, age 68, of Andover, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, as a result of an automobile accident in Portage County. She was born June 10, 1942, in Elyria, OH, the daughter of Alexander O. and Marcella M. (Vehlber) Schoenbachler. She graduated from St. Jude's High School in Elyria; and was a graduate of Elyria Memorial Hospital School of X-Ray Technology. Ann "Barb" married Charles B. Finicle on May 22, 1971; and they moved to Andover in 1975. She was employed by Greenville Regional Hospital in Greenville, PA, for several years; and by the office of Dr. Henry Debiec in Andover for seven years. Formerly, Ann was employed by Elyria Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover, where she was responsible for the Neocatechumenal Way and was involved in bible studies. She also was a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Andover for many years; and served as a poll worker for several years She was an avid quilter and belonged to the "Covered Bridge Stitchers"; enjoyed sewing and crafts; and traveling with her many friends. She was always devoted to attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's special events; and just as devoted to her many friendships. She was an aunt and surrogate aunt and grandma to many. Ann is survived by her brother, William A. (June Ann) Schoenbachler of Lansing, MI; her step daughter, Dawn R. (Tim) Pope of Elyria, OH; her three grandchildren, Robin Caruso, Terri Stephenson, and Kelly Kramer; her two great grandchildren, Grace and Emma Stephenson; nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband on October 14,1994; her parents; step daughter, Diane L. Kramer; and brother, Thomas Schoenbachler. Calling hours will be on Friday, May 20th from 6 to 8 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH. A Mass will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, S. Main St., Andover,OH, with Rev. Kevin McCaffrey officiating.
