Barbara A. West, age 79, of Jefferson, OH, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at the Jefferson Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Hudson and Mary (Mackin) Ross, born July 2, 1935, in Lorain, Ohio, where she later graduated from Lorain High School. A long time Andover resident, Barbara had lived in Jefferson for the past four years. She was employed by Premix in Kingsville, OH, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover. Barbara loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, to go shopping, and she enjoyed helping with the Andover Rotary dinners with the United Methodist Women. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Mary (Paul) Myosky of Columbus, OH, her son, Raymond (Allison) Phelps of Louisville, KY, her daughter, Jean (Dana Pugh) Smith of Williamsfield,OH, her daughter, Irene Schultz of Mentor, OH, her son, Ted (Pam) West of Jefferson,OH, her son, Robert West of Conneaut,OH, her daughter, Susan (John) Sisley of Williamsfield,OH, her daughter, Tracy (David) Heath of Andover, OH, her son, Richard West of Cleveland, OH, her daughter, Diana (Pete) Fogaras of Jefferson,OH; 28 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; her brother, Tim (Alice) Ross of Wakeman,OH; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters, Nancy Ross, Janet Emerick, and Sally Keenan; and one brother, David Ross. Barbara was an amazing woman who was loved by her family and many friends and will be sadly missed. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,OH, with Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover. Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 17th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
