Bernice E. Gregory

Bernice E. Gregory, age 101, of Andover, Ohio, died Friday, April 24, 2015, in Wadsworth, OH. She was born September 6, 1913, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Carl Adron and Nettie Belle (Penrod) Fiester. Formerly of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Gregory had been a resident of Andover since 1947. She worked in area department stores while living in Pittsburgh. When she moved to Andover she was employed as a bus driver for Pymatuning Valley Schools for many years, retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover since 1947, active in many areas of the church. Mrs. Gregory enjoyed spending every winter since 1980 in Mission, Texas; and she was an avid quilter, seamstress, reader, and Bridge card player. She belonged to the Mardi Club in Andover. She also loved to garden; and she had a great sense of humor. Mrs. Gregory married Robert Riley Gregory on June 6, 1940; and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1977. She is survived by her daughter, Laura L. Walsh of Andover, OH; her grandson, Robert G. Walsh of Wadsworth, OH; her two great granddaughters, Makayla J. Walsh of Brunswick, OH, and Monroe Harper Walsh of Medina,OH. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 181 S. Main St., Andover, OH, with Pastor Jason Hockran officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
