Bernice A. Pebbles

Bernice A. Pebbles, age 93, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Country Club Retirement Center in Ashtabula, Ohio. She was born June 25, 1925, in Conneaut, Ohio, a daughter of Emory Eugene and Rena (Bliss) Hackathorn. Mrs. Pebbles was a 1943 graduate of Andover High School. A lifetime Ashtabula county resident, Mrs. Pebbles was employed by General Electric in Jefferson and retired in 1984. She enjoyed sewing, quilt making, and canning; and she baked cookies for weddings for many years. She loved her dog, "Jimmy". Mrs. Pebbles married James Pebbles on August 28, 1945 in Richmond township, Ohio, and he preceded her in death in 1969. She is also preceded by her parents; her four sisters, Elsie Hudson, Irene Brooks, Amelia May, and Phyllis Powell; and her three brothers, Gilbert Hackathorn, Edward Hackathorn, and Richard Hackathorn. She is survived by her daughter, Joyanna "Joy" (Michael) Sharkey of Ashtabula, Ohio and her two granddaughters, Danni A. and Jenna A. Sharkey. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:00AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover,Ohio. Burial will follow in Padanaram Cemetery in Richmond township, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 10th from 6:00Pm until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
