Bernice Thompson

Johnston, Ohio- Bernice Lucille Thompson, age 91, died at home on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1933, in Cambridge, Ohio, the daughter of Martha Elizabeth (Milligan) and Clyde Raymond Conner. Bernice was a 1951 graduate of Cambridge High School. On July 7, 1951 she married William Russell Thompson. She worked for the former Packard Electric and after fifteen years of Service retired in 1981. 

Bernice was a member of the Johnston Federated Methodist Church, where she was active in the Martha Circle, and Susanna Circle. She served on the Johnston volunteer fire department auxiliary and was active in her children’s school PTO. 

Bernice is preceeded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter Cassie; and her brother, Clyde Leroy Connor. Survivors include two daughters, Melodie Lynn Long of Johnston, Ohio, and Pamela Marie (Joseph) Acierno of Johnston, Ohio; her son William Dale Thompson of Vernon, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Ronnie, Misty, Heather, Noah, Jensen, Bobby Jean, Curtis, and Vanessa; numerous great-grandchildren; and her two sisters-in-law; Donna Thompson of Cambridge, Ohio, and Agnus Thompson of Columbus, Ohio. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with calling hours beginning at Noon.
