Bertha King Rose

Bertha King Rose, 68 years old, of Farmdale, Ohio, died on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville, PA. Mrs. Rose was born on June 4, 1935, in Alvon, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ivan P. and Mildred (Bliffen) King. She came to Orangeville in 1940 from West Virginia. She then moved from Orangeville to Farmdale where she resided for 45 years. Mrs. Rose was a 1953 graduate of Vernon High School. She retired from Kennametal Corporation in Orwell in June of 1997 after 27 years. She was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church; and was a 50 year member of the Hartford, State, and National Grange. Mrs. Rose was a Christian and a loving mother. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. In her spare time, she like to cross stitch, crochet, and read. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jacob Rose, and an infant brother and sister. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Ivan L. Rose, Sr., whom she married October 23, 1953; her two sons, Ivan L. (Wendy) Rose, Jr., of Pittsburg, CA; and Douglas E. (Marilee) Rose of Lodi, CA; and three daughters, Ginny Lou (Bob) Arnold of Vernon, OH; Mary Ann (William) Rufener of Orangeville, OH; and Laurie A. Rose of Farmdale, OH; her nine grandchildren; and her two great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 11:00a.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Reverend Erwin M. Urschitz officiating. Burial will follow in Kinsman Cemetery, Kinsman, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Monday, March 29, 2004, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
