Seminole, Florida - Bette G. Muir, age 84, died on Sunday, July 22, 2007. She was born on February 21, 1923 in Woodlawn, Pennsylvania, to Glee J. and Evelyn (Ridings) Grindle. Formerly of Girard, Ohio and Alexandria, Virginia, Mrs. Muir, was a resident of Fort Myers, Florida since 1986. Mrs. Muir was a 1939 graduate of Chaney High School and attended Northern Virginia Community College. She was the secretary treasurer of Universal Dynamics, of Woodbridge, Virginia for over 23 years, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Muir attended the First Christian Church of Fort Myers, Florida. She was a member of the American Business Women Club, the Lee Memorial Share club, the Colonial Williamsburg Founders club, the Sunshine Travelers and of the Southwest Florida symphony Society and Community Foundation. She married Donald M. Muir on June 6, 1942. He died on April 21, 1993. Along with her husband of fifty years, Mrs. Muir is preceded in death by a grandson, Donald G. Muir Jr. Survivors include two sons, Donald G. and wife Sharon Muir of Seminole, Florida, and William C. and wife Karen Muir of Landsdown, Pennsylvania; a brother, Robert G. and wife Sally Grindle of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and seven grandchildren. Bill Muir, Luke Muir, Bonny Muir, Amanda Muir, Joe Muir, Kristie Grafe, Tricia Steele and 2 great grandchilden Katie and Shawn Grafe. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman,Ohio with Rev. Ryan A. Hetzer officiating. Burial will follow in Gustavus Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 28th from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services.
