Betty R. Burkett

Betty R. Burkett, age 88, of Erie, PA, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Erie,PA. She was born August 3, 1924, in Oil City, PA, a daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Neubauer) Wilson. She was a graduate of Titusville High School. A former resident of Andover, Ohio, Mrs. Burkett lived in Erie for the past two years. She attended Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover for many years; and she attended Curves in Andover until she was 83 years old when they closed in 2007. Mrs. Burkett enjoyed gardening and canning. She will be missed for her loving smile and laugh by all her family and friends. Mrs. Burkett married Neal F. Burkett on June 22, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her son, Randall J. Burkett in 1984; her granddaughter, Tammy Burkett; three brothers, Russell, Wilford, and Robert Wilson; and three sisters, Dorothy Toth, Beulah Laughery, and Helen Schiewe. She is survived by two daughters, Gail A. Tatalone of Erie, PA and Karen M. (Donald) Wauchope of Tuckahoe, NY; one son, Bradley T. (Robin) Burkett of Abilene, TX; her daughter-in-law, Noreen Burkett of Allen Park, MI; 7 Grandchildren, Brian, Stephen, Melissa, Sarah, Joshua, Dominick, and Joseph; 4 Great Grandchildren, Riana, Roman, Sean, and Secilia; and one sister, Dolyne Hasbrouck of Titusville, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Andover, OH. Burial will follow in St. Catharine's Cemetery in Titusville, PA. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH.
