Bob J. Van Boxel, age 81, of Williamsfield,OH, died on Friday, September 29, 2006 at his home. He was born February 27, 1925, in Galion, Ohio, to Jennings (Jack) and Faye (Lenhart) Van Boxel. Formerly of Mentor on the Lake, Mr. Van Boxel had been a long time Williamsfield township resident. He was employed by Valley Mold in Cleveland for 33 years. Mr. Van Boxel was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II in England, Africa, Italy, and the South Pacific on the LST 345. He attended the Wayne Congregational Church; and he enjoyed doing home repair jobs and was an avid hunter, making annual hunting trips to Wyoming. Mr. Van Boxel is survived by his wife, Mary A. (Sonewald), whom he married Nov. 20, 1949, of Williamsfield; son, Eric (Donna) Van Boxel of Mentor, OH; daughter, Diane Van Boxel of Wickliffe, OH; and sons, Greg and Mark Van Boxel, both of West Farmington, OH; 16 grandchildren; and 5 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Almina Holowenko; and brother, Donald Van Boxel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio, with Pastor Bob Coleman officiating.
