Bruce G. Rowan Devoted and Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Bruce G. Rowan, age 64, died Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Andover Village Retirement Community, Andover, Ohio. He was born March 8, 1944, in San Diego, California, the son of Bertrand J. and Louise F. (Henninger) Rowan. Formerly of Carlsbad, CA, Bruce had lived in Sharon, PA for the past two years. Bruce spent his life providing a foundation for his family. On December 26, 1964 he married the love of his life, Katherine, whom he affectionately called Puggy. He was a respectful, devoted and loving husband who embraced and appreciated her and their lifetime goal of being a supportive, unconditional family. As much as those left behind feel the void of his absence, he is where he wants to be: Eternally holding the hand of his precious wife. Those that knew him, whether deeply or just on the surface, knew he was a kind man full of integrity. He was supportive, giving and thoughtful but most importantly he was true to himself and others. The life he lived, being the person he was, is a true example of a man that loved his family and held a great respect for all that came into his life. His positive influence on those that loved him is his gift and legacy. Our Father meant so very much to us, and we want you to know: His caring strength has guided us into who we are today. He lives within our hearts and souls, No matter where we go. Our Dad's love was a precious gift, always there and unconditional in every way; the loving values he's taught us, we never could repay. It's hard to imagine the void we feel without all the love he was willing to give. Though our tribute back to him is real: To live our lives as he taught us With following the Golden Rules a must! That's our Thanks and our Promise to him As long as we shall live. Mr. Rowan is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine J. (Balino) Rowan; his parents; and one brother, James Rowan. He is survived by three daughters, Kim (Ralph) Rowan-Ferrante of Las Vegas, NV, Mickie (Shelly) Bradshaw-Rowan of Spokane, Washington, and Jeannette Rowan of Sharon, PA; one brother, Larry (Barbara) Rowan of North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony, Jaylie, and Jamie. Private services will be held at a later time. Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, handled arrangements, with a guestbook available at www.baumgardnerfuneralhome.com
