Buddy Sloan, age 75, of Andover, OH, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, at Eagle Pointe Skilled Nursing Center in Orwell, OH. He was born June 18, 1941, in Queens, WV, a son of Darrel and Elva (Zickefoose) Sloan. A long time Andover resident, Buddy was a veteran having served in the U.S. Marines. He was employed for many years at Rockwell in Ashtabula, OH; and he retired from an exterminating company in West Palm Beach, FL. He was a member of the American Legion Post #226, Andover; and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and bluegrass music. Buddy is survived by two sons, Donald B. Sloan of Ashtabula, OH and Robert F. (Rebecca) Sloan of Andover, OH; his granddaughter, Paige Sloan; three sisters, Delores (Dale) Lambert of Peoria, AZ, Delana (Jim) Myers of Pavilion, WY, and Susan Simons of Andover, OH; his brother, Ivan Sloan of Glenburn, ND; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Teddy Sloan; and four sisters, Karen George, Lucy Romanowski, Dana Rogers, and Martha Elaine Smith. Buddy was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle and will be missed by all who knew him. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, OH, with Pastor Jason Hockran officiating. No calling hours will be held.
