Andover, Ohio-Carl Moodt Jr., age 89, died on April 25, 2011 at his residence. He was born on April 15, 1922 to Karl and Johanna(Barth) Moodt. Mr. Moodt graduated from Orange High School in Pepper Pike, Ohio, Fenn University and Case Western Reserve University. He married Ruth (Smith) on October 25, 1947. Mr. Moodt worked as a Senior Sales Accountant Analyst for US Steel in Pittsburgh, PA for 35 years. He stayed in Holiday Camplands, that he helped build, for the summers since 1968 and moving there full time after his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing, and camping. Mr. Moodt was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Ruth Mazur. Surviving him are his wife, Ruth; his sister, Edna Anderle of Brecksville, Ohio; his sons, Carl (Sheryl) Moodt III of Bellport, Long Island , NY, and Gregory A. (Beverly) Moodt of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Debra Sweat of Orlando, Florida; his granchildren, Kristin Christie, Kyle, Kevin, Lyndsay, and Kelsey Moodt, and Ashley Sweat; and his great grandchildren, Ryann and Courtney Rose Christie, and Emily and Sarah Moodt. Services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 1 PM until the time of services. Cremation to follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, Ashtabula Regional Home Health Care Services, 3949 Jefferson Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, and Country Neighbor, 39 S.
