Carol Rose Zaebst

Carol lived most of her life in Cherry Valley, Ohio. She graduated in 1957 from Andover School. Carol graduated from Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science, and Mathematics, and a master’s degree as an Educational Specialist from Kent State University.
She married Charles A. Zaebst on December 26, 1961, who preceded her in death. Together they had three children, Charles (Becky) Zaebst, James (Linda) Zaebst, and Regina (Michael) Krejsa, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Carol was a lifelong educator who taught in Orwell and Andover Schools as a Special Education teacher. Later she became the Supervisor of Special Education in Ashtabula County where she remained until her retirement. She was a twenty-two-year member of the Ashtabula County Board of Education. Carol was active in retirement, tutoring students, and served as a museum docent at the Butler Institute of Art in Youngstown, Ohio. She also enjoyed painting in her spare time.
Carol was a long-time member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Andover, Ohio, and St. Patrick’s Church in Kinsman, Ohio. She was also a member of the Jesus Girls in Andover. Her last years were spent living in Duncansville, Pennsylvania, where she made many new friends. While living there, she attended Grace Family Bible Church and was very active in the ministries there. Carol worked as a volunteer in the Vacation Bible School for many years and baked for funeral dinners and Father’s Day. Carol will be missed, but we are thankful she is with her Savior due to her Faith in Christ and His finished work on the Cross.
A graveside service will be held at Cherry Valley Cemetery, State Route 6, on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 11:00 am. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Grace Family Bible Church,2243 Mill Road, Duncansville, Pennsylvania, 16635, with a luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall.
