Carolyn L. Hanson

CAROLYN L. HANSON, age 52, of Columbus, Ohio, died Monday, November 6, 2006, at her home. She was born October 8, 1954, in Greenville, PA, to Clyde and Velma Arlene (Southworth) Coon. Carolyn was a graduate of Joseph Badger High School; and she attended the former Farmdale Methodist Church in her youth. Formerly of New Jersey, Carolyn had moved to Columbus and was employed by the Department of Defense as a supervisor for the past four years. She also served in the U. S. Air Force for twenty years, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1993. Carolyn was very loved and respected by those who worked for her while she served. She was a member of the U.S. Air Force Retirees Association; the National Audobon Society; the National Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; and the National Quilting Association. Carolyn is survived by her mother, Velma Arlene Coon of Farmdale,OH; and three cousins, Cheryl Elstins, Nancy Chandler, and Robert Heidelberg. She is preceded in death by her father. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. Marian Glass officiating.
