Catherine M. Crouch

Andover, Ohio - Catherine M. Crouch, age 98, died on Thursday, October 4, 2007. An Andover resident since 1952, Mrs Crouch was born on May 21, 1909 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine (Schmidt) Wilting. She was a 1927 graduate of Mercer High School, and attended business college in Sharon, Pennsylvania. On July 15, 1941, she married Leo D. Crouch. He died on August 17, 1955. Mrs. Crouch was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church of Andover, where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society for many years. She was well known for her quilting and enjoyed gardening and reading. Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leo and Joseph Wilting; and four sisters, Eva Coakwell, Irene Tressa, Margaret McEwin and Clara Clausen. Survivors include her son, Leo S. and wife Teresa Crouch of Andover; a grandson, Neal and wife Lindsay Crouch of Pearl River, New York; two granddaughters, Christine Crouch of Lithopolis, Ohio and Cathy and husband David Szymanski of Wattburg, Pennsylvania and great granddaughter Sydney. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 8, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 481 South Main Street, Andover, Ohio with Rev. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 7th from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio.
