CECILE MAE KRUM RUDEEN, age 99, of Cherry Valley Township, Ohio, died peacefully at her home Saturday, December 31, 2005. She was born Feb. 8, 1906, in Nottingham, OH, to Fred and Cecilia (Snyder) Krum. Mae married Edgar Bernard Rudeen on Dec. 4,1937, and he passed away in October of 1993. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Eelethia Teakles, in August of 1986. She is survived by two nieces, Virginia Clark of Mayfield Hts., OH, and Edith Marten of Wickliffe, OH, and two great nieces and four great nephews. Mae belonged to the Nottingham Eastern Star as a 50 year member. She also belonged to the Chardon Christian Science Church and was a member of the Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School at both. In later years she was a very active member in the Cherry Valley First Church of God in Dorset, Ohio. Mae was an active member of various Granges for the past 55 years. She held offices such as secretary, treasurer, lecturer, and held long time offices of Master of the Grange in Lake, Ashtabula, and Cuyahoga counties. Mae enjoyed poetry, landscape painting, crafts, woodworking, caning chairs, and sewing, winning Blue Ribbons on the state level on her paintings. Mae and Edgar taught ballroom dancing, square dancing and she also enjoyed leathercrafts. Mae enjoyed a long life, family and friends, and she will surely be missed. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 6, 2006, at Euclid Cemetery, Euclid,OH, with Pastor Gary Morrison officiating. No calling hours will be held.
