New Port Richey, Florida - Charles M. Peck, age 88, died on Friday, May 22, 2009. He was born on November 29, 1920, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Raymond Burton Peck and Cora (Litwiler) Peck. He was a 1938 graduate of Andover High School, and had served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 until 1945. Formerly of Andover and Austinburg, Ohio, Mr. Peck moved to New Port Richey, Florida in 1978. He is retired from the Industrial Rayon Corporation of Painesville, Ohio. Mr. Peck was a member of the Ashtabula, Ohio VFW Post before transferring to the Holiday, Florida VFW and the Civilian Conservation Corp. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, fishing, bowling and was a fan of baseball. He is preceded in death by his wife, Imogene L. Peck, whom he married on December 25, 1945. Also preceding him are his parents; an infant son, Richard Earl Peck; a brother, Donald Peck; two sisters, Vivian O'Jajarvi and Florence McCliman. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia York and Pamela Webb both of New Port Richey, Florida and LaRayne Force of Ashtabula, Ohio; five grandchildren, Amy Burzanko, Jenny DeCamillo, Mark Kuhar, Paul Kuhar and Michelle Quint; and eight great grandchildren, Brooke, Ryan, Destiny, Isabella, Constance, Caleb, Cassandra and Michael. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 11:00am at Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover, Ohio, with Mr. Joseph LaGuardia officiating.
