Charlie Fisher

Charlie Fisher,age 82, of Andover, Ohio, died Friday, December 23, 2011, at his home. He was born August 14, 1929, in Ripley, New York, a son of Martin D. and Gertrude I. (Adams) Fischer. A long time Andover resident, Charlie was formerly of Conneautville, PA. He was former partner and Vice President of Valley Veneer and Lumber in Wayne township, OH. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Andover; and the Draft Horse Association. Charlie enjoyed draft horse pulling at fairs, rodeo bull riding in his younger years, and training his trick horse "Champ". He also enjoyed yodeling. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rebecca E. (Rickard) Fisher, whom he married February 3, 1973, of Andover; two sons, Adam Charles (Sharon) Fisher, Jr. of Christiana, TN, and David S. (Terri) Fisher of Venus, PA; three step sons, James C. (Debbie) Henderson of Albion, PA, Brian C. (Shan) Henderson of Greensburg, PA, and Barry G. (Bonnie) Henderson of Manor,PA; five step daughters, Diana G. Whipple of Springboro, PA, Wendy R. (Lawrence) Shoaf of Albion, PA, Leslie D. (Larry) Royer of Springboro, PA, Donna A. (Chuck) Grantham of Mansfield, OH, and Glenda Javins of Girard, PA; 20 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; one brother, Walter J. (Linda) Fisher of Ripley, NY; and his first wife, Jean of Phoenix, AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Dodie; and a step son, Frank Cordray. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 10:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover,Ohio, with Rev. Vernon Palo officiating. Burial will follow in West Andover Cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday, December 27th from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
