Charlotte A. Oatman

Charlotte A. Oatman, age 83, of Middlefield, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at UHHS Geauga Regional Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1931, in Ulm, Germany. As a child she worked in a factory doing office work. As an adult Charlotte migrated to the United States residing in Augusta, Georgia where she found work as a seamstress. She married Glover Oatman, Jr. on May 31, 1991 and moved to Newbury, Ohio. They moved to Middlefield, Ohio, in 1993, and joined the First United Methodist Church in Middlefield in 1996. Charlotte enjoyed being active in the church and volunteering in the church thrift shop. Charlotte is survived by her husband, Glover Oatman, Jr. of Middlefield; daughter, Sasha Seavers of Augusta, GA; daughter, GiGi Oatman of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Jasmine Austin of Williamsfield,OH; son, Jeff Stone of South Korea; daughter, Michelle Oatman of Cleveland, OH; daughter, Yvonne Oatman of Cleveland, OH; grandson, Blake Seavers of Augusta, GA; and one great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 14999 S. State Ave., Middlefield, OH. A light luncheon will be served following the service. A private burial of Charlotte's cremated remains will take place later in Williamsfield Center Cemetery, Williamsfield, OH. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the church.
