Christopher Grant Hershberger

Greenville, Pennsylvania - Christopher Grant Hershberger, age 17, went into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at UPMC Children's Hospital after a sudden illness. He was able to give a final gift of organ donation and share life with four other people while leaving this world. Christopher was born on March 11, 1994, in Brandon, Florida, the son of Roseanne (Matysiak) Hershberger and Dale Barton Hershberger. He was a 10th grader in the Gateway Program at Greenville High School. Christopher was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenville. He is formerly of Riverview, Florida and Kinsman, Ohio. Christopher was on the Special Olympics Bowling Team of Hermitage, Pennsylvania, a member of the Greenville High School Band, Cub Scouts, Super Kids Race, and Fun in the Sun Summer Camp of Hermitage and the Summer Enrichment Program of Trumbull County. He loved to enter his various art projects into the local fairs, draw, color, dance, play computer games, build with dominos and played soccer for the St. Michael School team and Joseph Badger team. Christopher is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Survivors include his mother, Roseanne Hersherberger of Greenville, Pennsylvania; his father, Dale B. Hershberger of Riverview, Florida; two sisters, Kristen A. Hershberger of Penn State University, State College and Zarah R. Hershberger of Greenville, Pennsylvania; a brother, Zackary J. Hershberger of Greenville, Pennsylvania; two aunts, Maryanne J. (Darrin) Madison of Newton Falls and Linda J. (Charles) Dietrich of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 85 North High Street, Greenville, Pennsylvania, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 366 South Main Street, Greenville, Pennsylvania from 1:00pm until 7:00pm.
