New Lyme township, OH— Christopher L. Zaebst, age 57, of New Lyme township, OH, died on Friday, September 23, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 6, 1959, in Ashtabula, OH, a son of William O. and Marion E. (Lucas) Zaebst. A lifetime area resident, Chris was a 1977 graduate of Pymatuning Valley High School in Andover. He owned and operated Bossy’s Way dairy farm in New Lyme for many years for which he was the heart and soul of. He also was self employed as a drywall installer. Chris was a past member of the Ashtabula County Holstein Club; served as a delegate for Milk Marketing, Inc.; and was a New Lyme township trustee for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his cows; and especially loved time spent with his grandchildren. Chris is survived by his wife, Cindy J. (Stokes) Zaebst, whom he married January 31,1981, of New Lyme township; his son, Lucas (Bethlynn) Zaebst of New Lyme, son, Jamison Zaebst of New Lyme, daughter, Lindsey (Mark) Gray of Roaming Shores, OH, son, Joshua Zaebst of New Lyme; special daughter, Shayla Childress of Jefferson,OH; special son, Doug Ruble of New Lyme; four grandchildren, Leighton and Gannon Zaebst, Michael McNish, and Tristan Gray; his sister, Evelyn (Melvin) Zaebst Marrison of New Lyme township, OH, brother, Allan (Mary) Zaebst of Mentor, OH, brother, Roger (Kathy) Zaebst of Columbus, OH, sister, Sue Mason of Conneaut, OH, brother, Rick (Peggy) Zaebst of Cherry Valley township, OH; and many special nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. He is preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of Chris’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church Hall, 181 S. Main St., Andover, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Christopher L. Zaebst Memorial Scholarship Fund, C/O Lindsey Gray. Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH, handled arrangements with an online guestbook available at www.baumgardnerfuneralhomes.com. In true farmer’s fashion, the family requests that casual attire be worn for the celebration of Chris’s life.
