Daisy M. Wood

Fowler, Ohio - Daisy M. Woods, age 89, died on March 20, 2009. She was born on February 18, 1920, in Bellaire, Ohio, the daughter of Edward R. Kennedy and Daisy (Johnson) Kennedy-McCloud. Formerly of Howland, Mrs. Wood was a Vernon resident for over thirty years. On May 28, 1937 she married Elmer W. Wood Jr. She was a member of the Vernon United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed sewing, canning and crocheting. Mrs. Wood is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years along with her parents, two grandsons, Elmer "Wayne" Wood IV and Harold Browning and a brother, Russell E. Kennedy. Survivors include two daughters, Nellie M. Browning of Georgetown, Delaware and Jo Ann (Jack) Shaffer of Farmdale, Ohio; two sons, Elmer W. (Judy) Wood III of Arcadia, Florida and Robert A. (Judy) Wood of Lutz, Florida; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 1:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from Noon until the time of services. Private burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
