Daniel R. Welsh

Daniel R. Welsh, age 60, of Williamsfield, OH, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at his home. He was born March 22, 1953, in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of Charles L. Welsh and Shirley L. (Gregory) Vidonic. Dan was a 1971 graduate of Hopewell High School in Aliquippa, PA; and a 1976 graduate of Edinboro College. Formerly of Hammondsville, Ohio, he resided in Williamsfield since 1981. Dan was a partner since 1981 at Haines Marine Service in Andover,Ohio. He formerly was a math and science teacher in Hammondsville, OH. Dan was a member of the Andover Christian Church, where he participated in bible studies, Awana, and Fifth Quarter. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren; enjoyed hunting, snow skiing, scuba diving, riding his motorcycle, and landscaping. He was a talented woodworker; enjoyed collecting various wines; and he received his skydiving certificate. Dan is survived by his wife, Marie E. (Wnek) Welsh, whom he married June 18, 1977, of Williamsfield,OH; his daughter, Jaime M. Welsh of Williamsfield,OH; his son, Craig D. (Jennifer) Welsh of Wayne township,OH; granddaughter, Brittany Southwick; grandson, Kaden Welsh; granddaughter, Taylor Welsh; his mother, Shirley L. Vidonic of Aliquippa, PA; brother, Mark (Janet) Welsh of Linesville, PA; brother, Kerry (Barbara) Welsh of Wellsburg, WV; sister, Laurie Pickens of Aliquippa, PA; brother, Rory "Chip" (Lori) Welsh of Aliquippa, PA; brother, Shawn (Sharon) Welsh of Aliquippa, PA; his brother-in-law, Andrew J. Wnek, Jr. of Edinboro, PA; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; and close friend and business partner, Dave (Cyndee) Haines. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles L. Welsh; his step father, William Vidonic; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andrew J. Wnek, Sr. and Eleanor E.Wnek. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at 3:00 PM at the Andover Christian Church, Stillman Ave., Andover,OH, with Pastor Robert Gears officiating. Cremation will follow services. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 23rd from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church.
