Darla J. McCallister

RICHMOND TWP-Darla Joyce McCallister, 64, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born June 7, 1960, in Beaumont, TX, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Mary Ann (Gilley) Bertrand. She married her beloved husband, James “Jay” W. McCallister, Jr. on November 10, 1998. Darla passed away one day after their 26th wedding anniversary. Kindhearted, Darla was a nurse’s aide for over 20 years. In her spare time, she loved to travel and visit with her family and had a fondness for spending money. “The girl loved to shop!”

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, James "Jay" W. McCallister, Jr. of Andover; her children, Candice Carr of Andover, Sheri (Jacob) KitSmiller of Batson, TX, Mary (De Ann) Alford of Middlefield, OH, Kathy Locke of Middlefield, OH, Jacob (Rhonda) Carr of Middlefield, OH; her grandchildren, Austin Mooney of FL, Rylie Gandolf of Middlefield, OH, Erin Coates, Jacob KitSmiller of Batson, TX, Rachel KitSmiller of Batson, TX; her siblings, Donald (Shelly) Bertrand of Welsh, LA and Emily (Gary) Eberth of Petal, MS.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11AM at Baumgardner Funeral and Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover OH 44003. Burial will follow at West Andover Cemetery, Andover, OH.

Calling hours will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, from 5PM to 7PM at Baumgardner Funeral and Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover OH 44003.
