Darrell R. Baker

Andover, Ohio - Darrell R. Baker, age 72, died at his home on Tuesday, August 23, 2011. He was born on April 16, 1939 in Richmond, Ohio, a son of Gladys M. (Clark) and Raymond T. Baker. A lifetime area resident, Mr. Baker was a 1957 graduate of Andover High School. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1962 until 1964. Mr. Baker was employed by General Electric of Andover and RMI of Ashtabula, Ohio. He formerly attended the First United Methodist Church of Richmond. Mr. Baker was an avid reader, enjoyed the outdoors and liked bird watching, and loved traveling the world to Greece, Egypt, Germany and France. Mr. Baker is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Chuck) Hussing of Espyville, Pennsylvania and Pam (Dave) Andrews of Gaithersburg, Maryland; two sons, Jeff (Holly) Baker of Andover, Ohio and Mike (Lisa) Baker of Williamsfield, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Michelle (Rick) Ellis, Matthew (Stacy) Hussing, Mark (Brandy) Hussing, Grace (Ryan) Wlotzko, Jamie (Kris) Andrews Anderton, Brittany Baker, Tim Baker, Chad Baker, and Shelby Baker; twelve great grandchildren; three brothers, Ronald Baker of Andover, Ohio, Lee (Kathy) Baker of Lady Lake, Florida and Dave (Dolores) Baker of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio with Pastor Dave Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Penn Line Cemetery, Penn Line, Pennsylvania. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 27th from 11:00 AM until the time of services.
