David Karl Bettcher

David Karl Bettcher, age 58, of Andover, OH, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Andover. He was born April 8, 1956, in Buffalo, New York, a son of William E. and Donna L. (Richards) Bettcher. David was employed as a bus driver for Pymatuning Valley Schools in Andover; and formerly for the U.S. Postal Service as a mailman for over 20 years. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force. David was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing in many community softball and basketball leagues. He was always one to be out there participating. He was a former soccer coach for W.A.S.P. and for P.V. High School. David had a very giving heart and kind spirit about him. He loved to help people lending them a hand where needed. David formerly attended the Andover Christian Church. David is survived by son, Matt (Keribeth) Bettcher of Cortland,OH, son, Zack Bettcher of Andover, daughter, Sarah (Jesse) Hicks of Punxsutawney, PA, son, Luke Bettcher of Hartsgrove, OH, son, Dan (Emily) Bettcher of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren; Kylie and Logan Bettcher, and Taylor Janson; his wife of 27 years, Mary Bettcher of Madison,OH; his father, William E. Bettcher of Eden, NY; a sister, Vicki (Pete) Leach of Sarasota, FL; and brother, Bill (Jodie) Bettcher of Eden,NY. He is preceded in death by his mother; and a sister, Poppie Becker. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 6:00 PM at the Andover Christian Church, 150 Stillman Ave., Andover,OH, with Pastor Robert Gears officiating. Calling hours will be Saturday from 4:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
