David Wayne Opfer, age 61, of Andover, Ohio, died August 16, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Opfer spent the last year in Andover and was formerly of Florida, Smithfield, North Carolina, and Bentleyville, Pennsylvania. He was born on September 8, 1943 in Elizabeth, Pennsylvania to Helen Opfer Steffey. Mr. Opfer served in the United States Army, and was a truck driver. He attended the Andover First United Methodist Church and was a member of Holiday Camplands Volunteer Forces. Mr. Opfer enjoyed painting, drawing, and fishing. He is preceded in death by his mother, his wife Mary Virginia whom he married in June of 2000, and an infant daughter Bernice Louise. Mr. Opfer is survived by two daughters, Vickie L. Lee of Smithfield, North Carolina, Kimberly Opfer of Grindstone, Pennsylvania, a sister Gladys L. Hinerman of Andover, 4 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
