Dennis E. Hipkins

Gustavus, Ohio - Dennis E. Hipkins, age 62, died on April 20, 2009 at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville, Pennsylvania. He was born on January 6, 1947, in Greenville, Pennsylvania the son of Donald E. and L. Rosalie (Gribble) Hipkins. A lifelong Cortland resident, Mr. Hipkins lived in Gustavus for the past five years. He was a self employed carpenter. Mr. Hipkins enjoyed restoring vehicles and maintaining his yard. He is preceded in death by his father Donald E. Hipkins and his first wife, Judy (Yauger) Hipkins. Survivors include his wife of the past five years, Karen L. ( Johnson-Houser) Hipkins of Gustavus, Ohio; a daughter, Tracy L. (Rodney) McNeely of Gustavus, Ohio; a son. Troy E. Hipkins of Cortland, Ohio; two stepsons, Craig A. Houser and Dennis R. Houser Jr., both of Gustavus, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Tawnya L. Houser of Shaker Heights, Ohio; five sisters, Patricia E. Hipkins of Lititz, Pennsylvania, M. Jean (Graham) Forster of Gustavus, Ohio, V. Lynn Hipkins of Duff, Tennessee, Donna R. (David) Ruhl and Vicky L. (Michael) Glancy both of Billings, Montana; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Seth, Cody, Shawna, Amber, Jared, Derek and Karissa. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 7:00pm at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman, Ohio, with Rev. Mary Prior officiating.
