Diana "Joy" Joyce White

Diana "Joy" White, age 62, of Williamsfield, Ohio, died Monday, May 30, 2016, at Austinburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born July 30, 1953, in Logan, West Virginia, a daughter of James David and Dollie Jean (Bias) Simpkins. A long time area resident, Joy was employed as a nurse aid and caregiver at the former Miller's Nursing Home of Andover, Ohio as well as a private in home care giver. She married Jackie Ray White on May 9, 1970, and he preceded her in death on August 22, 1988. She is also preceded by her parents; and one brother, Everett Simpkins. She is survived by her son, James H. (Kim) White of Sistersville, West Virginia; two granddaughters, Sara Warren and Raelene Kessler, both of Sistersville, West Virginia; three brothers, James "Pete" (Bonnie) Simpkins, David (Linda) Simpkins and Jeff (Sherry) Simpkins all of Paden City, West Virginia; two sisters, Mary (Calvin) Brown and Rhonda (Larry) Updyke both of Dorset, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Dottie Simpkins of St. Marys, West Virginia; her step mother, Charlotte Simpkins of Chapmanville, West Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio. Burial will follow in Cherry Valley Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 2nd from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Community Care Committee of Andover, POB 8, Dorset, OH 44032, where Joy was a member of since 1992.
