Donald H. Clute, Sr., age 84, of Kinsman, OH, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home in Fowler,OH. He was born October 14, 1926, in Jefferson, OH, a son of Henry and Vera (Grimm) Clute. Mr. Clute was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy. He was employed as an electrical repairman for LTV Steel in Warren, OH for 25 years. Mr. Clute served as Fire Chief of the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was a member of the Kinsman United Methodist Church; the Ohio State Firefighters Association; the Trumbull County Fire Chiefs Association; the Kinsman Conservation Club; and the American Legion Wooden Nickel Club. His hobbies included collecting coins and wooden nickels. Mr. Clute married Sally (Lean) Clute on August 24, 1957, and she preceded him in death on July 8, 2009. He is also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Clute; and a sister, Dorothy Fenn. Mr. Clute is survived by a daughter, Lynn R. Clute of Kinsman, Ohio, two sons, Donald H. Clute, Jr. of Kinsman, Ohio, and Bruce A. Clute of West Hollywood, California; and four granddaughters, Christine M. Stahl of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, PFC Bonnee I. Clute, Okinawa, Japan, United States Marine Corp, Jillee A. Clute of Orwell, Ohio, and Anngee D. Clute of Andover, Ohio; a sister, Janet (Robert) McCrimmon and a brother, Edward (Berta) Clute both of Kinsman, Ohio. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman,OH, with Rev. David McKinnon officiating. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 14th from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 307, Kinsman,OH 44428.
