Donald C. Field

Austinburg, Ohio - Donald Claud Field, age 70, died on Thursday, September 8, 2016 in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was born on July 7, 1946 in Erie, Pennsylvania, a son of Lucille (Chelton) and Claud Field. A 1963 graduate of Fort Leboeuf High School in Waterford, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict. A salesman for Murphy Printing of Espyville, Pennsylvania for over fifteen years, Don was a manager for many years of the Sara Lee Corporation delivering to many local stores. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching sports on the television and was known for his love of Christmas, serving as Andover's Santa for many Christmases. Above all Don loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, George, Dale, Douglas and Laverne Field. Survivors include two daughters, Kristen C. Artman of Geneva, Ohio and Melissa A. Field of Macedonia, Ohio; four sons, Damien A. (Mary Beth) Field of Andover, Ohio, Shaun T. (Katie) Field of Findlay, Ohio, Paul J. Field of Marquette, Michigan and Michael A. Field of Ashtabula, Ohio; a step-daughter, Maureen (Chad) Hampton of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; four brothers, Melvin L. Field and Glenn A. Field both of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, Rev. Norman (Joyce) Field of Erie, Pennsylvania and Harry A. Field of Vero Beach, Florida and eight grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 4:00PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio with Rev. Norman Field officiating. Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Andover, Ohio. Calling hours will be on Sunday, September 11th from 2:00PM until the time of services.
