ANDOVER-Donald Allen George, age 84, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born September 20, 1940, in Warren, OH, he was a son of the late Allen R. and Dorothy (Carns) George. On December 21, 1960, he married his beloved wife, Shirley Bubel.
In his career, Donald served as the Director of Purchasing at Polychem for several years. Very involved in his community, Donald held the role of Fire Chief in Parkman. His leadership extended to education as well, where he served as President of the Parent-Teacher Organization. In addition, he held the position of President of the Cub Scout Council, fostering the growth and development of youths in the community.
He was a member of the America Management Association and the Purchasing Managers Association. Moreover, Donald contributed as a Past Board Member of the W.E. Ohio Rubber Group, showcasing his influence on local industry standards. He was also an active member of both the Shriners and the Masons, reflecting his values of brotherhood and philanthropy.
Beyond his professional and community endeavors, Donald cherished the great outdoors where he enjoyed hiking in the mountains and fishing.
He is survived by his four children, Susan Dinishak, Sherry (Chuck) Schreckengost, Cindy (David) Klomfas, Daniel (Wendy) George; 11 grandchildren, Ashley (Charles), Erica, Christopher (Devon), Jacqueline, Alexandria, Benjamin, Jacob, Olivia, Marissa, Kyle, Aidan; 8 great-grandchildren, Dominick, Mila, Teagan, Landon, Kaylee, Maleah, Roman and Cade; brother, David (Myrna) George.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley George, his brother, Richard George and his sister Allene Green.
