Donald P. Root

DONALD P. ROOT, age 78, of Andover, Ohio, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Andover. He was born October 2, 1928, in Andover, Ohio, to Frank O. and Virgil (Perry) Root. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Root was employed by Ohio Edison for 45 years. He was a member of the Richmond United Methodist Church; and a member of the Harry Lees Post #506 American Legion, Kinsman. Mr. Root was a veteran of the Army Air Corps . His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was an avid reader, a civil war buff, and he loved watching his grandchildren participate in their sports. Mr. Root is survived by his wife, Doris M. (Hitchcock) Root, whom he married September 19, 1947; his son, Jack (Chris) Root, of Andover; and his daughter, Denise (Tom) Stasiak, of Andover; 7 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. Private services will be held for the immediate family. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
