Johnston, Ohio - Donald W. Moore, Sr., age 75, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at his home in Johnston, Ohio. He was born on October 13, 1935, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the son of Alyce O. (McClelland) and William D. Moore. Mr. Moore was a 1952 graduate of Hickory High School. He served in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960. On December 14, 1954 he married Lucretta A. Bochert. Mr. Moore was a civilian artisan for the Vienna Air Force Base for over thirty-two years. He along with his wife owned and operated Kinsman Lanes Bowling Alley for over seventeen years. Mr. Moore was a member of the Johnston VFW, the AM Vets in Vienna, the Mecca Moose Club and the Bronzewood Golf Club of Kinsman. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and watching football. Mr. Moore is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mary Alice Lucille Moore and a brother, George Moore. Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years, Lu A. Moore of Johnston, Ohio; two sons, Donald W. (Dani) Moore, Jr., of Glenburnie, Maryland and Theodore â�œTJâ (Leona) Moore of Warren, Ohio; a grandson, Donald â�œDJâ Moore, III; two brothers, Lawrence G. (Flo) Moore of Mercer, Pennsylvania and G. L. (Delores) Houk of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania. Private burial of cremated remains will be held in Johnston Cemetery.
