Donna J. Sealy

Donna J. Sealy, 65 years old, of Kinsman, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2004, at her residence. She was born in Kinsman on June 15, 1939, the daughter of Charles H. and Margret K. (Keeler) Smith. Donna was a 1957 graduate of Kinsman High School. She attended Bowling Green State University , Kent State University and graduated with honors from Youngstown State University, with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Donna taught school for 36 years. She taught in the North Chicago Schools while her husband was stationed at Great Lakes and when they moved back to Kinsman in 1962, she began teaching in the Maplewood School District. She was an elementary teacher in the Maplewood North builidng from 1962 until she retired in 1995. Donna married her best friend and buddy, James M. Sealy on March 12, 1959, who passed away on September 26, 1999. Donna enjoyed watching for a rainbow after a rain; the time to observe a beautiful sunrise or sunset; or just the time to enjoy nature at work in the backyard. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and studying the Scriptures and the Tuesday mornining Bible Study class she attended for many years at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and granddaughters. Donna, Jim and their children, and later their granddaughters, helped grow cantaloupes in the field near their home. It was a Sealy family summer project for many years and it produced many fond memories. Donna was a 50 year member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, a LOGOS teacher, and served on the Board of Deacons. She was a life member of the Trumbull County Retired Teachers & Ohio Retired Teachers. Donna is survived by her son, Douglas R. Sealy of Kinsman, OH; her two daughters, Kimberly R. (Tom) Brainard of Kinsman, OH and Teresa (John) Cecelic of Andover, OH; two very special granddaughters, Kathryn M. & Megan L. Brainard of Kinsman, OH; three brothers, C. Richard (Colleen) Smith, and James A. (Judy) Smith of Kinsman, OH; and Thomas A. (Jean) Smith of Paris, OH; two sisters, Eltha S. (Art) Logan of Gustavus, OH; and Elaine C. (Bob) Smith-Guiraud of Hartford, OH; and Aunt Vonda Jones of Gustavus, OH; and Uncle and Aunt, Thomas and Shirley Keeler of Kinsman, OH; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Reid E. Smith, and a very special Uncle Earl Jones. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2004, at 4:00p.m. at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church Street, Kinsman, with Rev. Larry A. Myers officiating. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, from 4:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main Street, Kinsman.
