Doris Jean Bakos

DORIS JEAN BAKOS, age 70, of Vernon Township, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at Briarfield Of Cortland. She was born December 18, 1935 in Spokane, Ohio, to Ermine and Etta Mae (Jones) Hillyer. Formerly of Burghill and Farmdale, Mrs. Bakos was a Vernon resident for the past six years. She was employed as a press operator for Target Stamped Products in Kinsman for 30 years, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Burghill Baptist Church. Mrs. Bakos enjoyed reading, flower gardening, and singing. Mrs. Bakos is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lester John Hillyer; and three sisters, Irene Gray, Josephine Koonce, and Patty Crocker. She is survived by a daughter, Eugenia L. (Thomas) Twitchell of West Mecca, Ohio; three sons, Jeffrey J. (Beth) Bakos of Vernon Township, Ohio, Neil A. Bakos of Randall, Minnesota, and Bobby A. (Peggy) Bakos of Kinsman, Ohio; five sisters, Mary Skidmore of Warren, Ohio, Elsie Conti of Sharon, Pennsylvania, Erdene Bell of Hartford,Ohio, Nancy Mosconi of Greenville, Pennsylvania, and Margaret Hudson of Johnston Township, Ohio; three brothers, George Hillyer of Pierz, Minnesota, Jimmy Hillyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Charles Hillyer of Burghill, Ohio; 8 Grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, Travis, Katie, Kristeen, Keith, Kelly, Kyle, Justin and Amanda; and 10 Great Grandchildren, and former husband, Eugine J. Bakos. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio, with Pastor Glenn Wadlington officiating. Cremation will follow the services and burial of cremated remains will take place in West View Cemetery in Vernon. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 P.M. until the time of service.
